Frequently Asked Irrigation & Sprinkler Repair Questions

How much do you charge to come out and repair my sprinkler system?

It depends upon where you live. Our minimum service call fee for most of Bradenton and Sarasota (south of State Road 70, west of I-75, north of Nokomis, and east of US 41) is $75. In order to cover gas and driving time, our minimum service call fee increases the farther we travel from our headquarters. Some examples, East of I-75 ($85), Anna Maria Island ($125) and North Longboat Key ($100) North of 70 and West of 41 Bradenton ($85), Siesta Key and South Longboat Key ($85).

What is meant by the “minimum service call fee”?

It’s the minimum we charge to visit your property, whether we are there fifteen minutes or one hour. After one hour, we charge our regular hourly rate, which is $65 for one technician or $115 for a two-man crew. We are generally able to fix most problems within an hour or two.

If you do the repair in an hour and a half, will I get charged for two hours?

No, you will only be billed for an hour and a half.

What’s it going to cost to fix my system?

It depends on what the problem is and how long it takes us to fix it, but here are some ballpark figures to give you a general idea: Replacing a valve ($125-$175), Replacing a spray head ($15), Replacing a rotor ($40), Adding a head to an existing zone ($35-$75 depending upon the distance), Adding a zone to an existing system ($600-$800), Installing drip irrigation ($1.50 per foot up to 100 sq ft, $1.25 per foot up to 250 sq ft, and $1 per foot up to 500 sq ft), Installing a pressure regulator ($250), Replacing a solenoid ($100-175), Installing a rain sensor ($125 if it’s wired, $180 for wireless, and Installing a new controller ($500-800 depending on the number of zones and whether it’s indoor or outdoor).

How soon can I get on the schedule?

It depends upon the time of year and scope of work. In the spring we’re often so booked we might not be able to get to your property for a week, but the rest of the year we should be able to get to you, quite often, in just a day or two. Priority is always given to our past clients.

What if I have an emergency—I have a major leak—and need someone to come out NOW?

Shut off the water at the main valve. You no longer have an emergency! Give us a call and we will get a technician to you as fast as we can!

Do you install new systems?

Yes, we do. Please call us, or fill out our contact form and we will call you to setup an appointment at your property as soon as possible. We do require an email in order to provide you with an estimate. All of our estimates are delivered via email from the office@tropicalgardenslandscape.com email address. Please check emails, as sometimes the estimate will go to your spam folder.

Do you give free estimates?

Yes, we do, for new systems and large scale projects in excess of $500. For smaller repairs, we may provide a verbal “ballpark” estimate over the phone if you request one based on the description of you problem. We will always invoice for actual hours and materials required to correctly fix the problem.

Do you take credit cards?

We do take credit and debit card payments right here on our website using our secure payment client portal. Your invoice will also have a pay now button that eases the process as well! Of course, we can also accept your credit card payment by calling our office (941) 993-2442.
