There’s no secret to maintaining a healthy lawn — all you need is the discipline required to maintain a scheduled lawn fertilization and weed control program. We take pride in our discipline here at Tropical Gardens Landscape, and our lawn care program is designed to consistently provide your lawn with the nutrients necessary to sustain a healthy and vibrant appearance. Our licensed lawn care experts know how to perform these services properly using quality products and taking the time to do the job correctly!

The Benefits of Investing in Fertilization & Weed Control

Tropical Gardens Landscape cares about the health of your soils! Our granular and liquid fertilizers are custom-blended to ensure amazing results, no matter where we work. These custom blends contain all of the micronutrients not found in other off-the-shelf blends.

Nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and other minerals such as iron, copper, zinc, and manganese are important in our Central Florida soils, as they can reduce deficiencies that cause yellowing, fungus, and insect pressure. Matching our fertilizer types and proper application rates with the correct nutrient content will always produce the healthy, vibrant green lawn that you’ve always wanted!

Weeds can choke out your plants and grass. The selective herbicides that we use in our landscape maintenance packages are effective in controlling the growth of these unwanted weeds and do not harm turf and plants. While some of our competitors will treat your entire lawn with herbicides, we’ve found no need other than to spot-treat the area.

The benefits?

  • Weed-free lawn
  • Increased drought tolerance
  • Lush green appearance
  • Promotes healthy root growth
  • Replenishes nutrients and enriches the soil
  • Fights disease

When developing a turf fertilization program, we consider a number of factors including:

    • Natural soil fertility
    • Fertilizer selection
    • Turf/grass species, desired quality, and use
    • Environmental and management conditions
    • Application schedule

Tree and Shrub Package

Ornamental shrubs, such as your Hibiscus, Ixora, Jatropha, and Viburnum, are all in danger of being attacked by common pests like whiteflies, aphids, mealy bugs, thrips, scale, and many other insects. Most of the insects in Sarasota, Bradenton, and Palmetto can be categorized into two types: insects with chewing mouthparts, and those with piercing-sucking mouthparts. Both of these insect types can significantly harm your plants. Fortunately, our highly trained technicians monitor your landscape at each visit in order to catch infestations early.

At Tropical Gardens, we have developed custom-blended, slow-release fertilizers made specifically for both palms and ornamental plants that will deliver time-released nutrients your landscape needs to thrive. When applied at the appropriate time, these blends allow your landscape to receive the nitrogen and potassium it needs, as well as small amounts of other essential nutrients, such as magnesium, manganese, and iron.

We Treat and Protect Your Lawn and Landscape Against Fungus and Other Diseases

Your turf needs to be protected from fungal diseases. In the winter months, brown patch and leaf spot can be prevalent concerns in both Zoysia and St. Augustine grasses.

Brown patch usually occurs from November to May in the Sarasota, Bradenton, and Palmetto areas, where the temperature tends to drop below 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Rainfall, excessive irrigation, and periods of high humidity result in your grass being continuously wet, which in turn promotes fungus growth. If you do not have a plan of action, large areas of your lawn can be infected quickly. The good news is that Tropical Gardens has developed an excellent plan of action to prevent and combat these fungi, and others!

Insecticide Protection Against Chinch, Grubs, Mole Crickets, Sod Webworm, and Fire Ants

When it comes to insecticide treatment for turf insects, timing couldn’t be more important. Our fertilization and weed control package includes applications of the most effective treatments to prevent infestations that would otherwise leave your lawn yellow with large dead patches. Once these infestations begin, the weeds in your lawn will become prolific.

Let Tropical Gardens Landscape take care of all your fertilization needs. Our mission is to help you maintain a healthy green lawn and vibrant plants and palms!
